Procurement is one of the core disciplines to support customer requirements and facilitate organization growth. The central European procurement department has grown rapidly, from 17 to 100 FTE in the last year, managing approximately € 5 Bn. spend. The result and people oriented European CPO has been deploying all centralized and decentralized procurement activities in Europe, together with the European procurement management team. Activities have been divided into Category Procurement, Business Procurement, Commercial Procurement and Procurement Excellence. You will join the Indirect Procurement team, focusing on several indirect categories, managing 3 fte.
Wat ga je doen
As the Category Procurement Manager Indirect, you will work on strategical and tactical level, with the autonomy to take ownership of your results and drive excellence in cost, technology, and quality within the supply base, managing around € 35-40 MM spend. The potential for optimizations is substantial, as you will consolidate procurement activities from the ground up. You will shape and deploy the Europe wide category strategy and execute improvement projects. Building strong relationships with suppliers will be crucial as you strive to achieve best-in-class outcomes for the organization. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with divers stakeholders across various divisions, ensuring the successful implementation and execution of procurement initiatives. Your responsibilities include:
- Take ownership of initiating, drafting, validating, signing off, implementing, and executing the procurement strategy for the specific categories (including Temp staffing, Energy, Security & IT) across Europe for all pillars of DP World.
- Managing the Category Procurement Specialist IT among others.
- Focus on strategic sourcing, supplier management and performance, risk management and commercial negotiations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate sourcing activities for several sites in Europe.
- Develop, lead and maintain expert knowledge of the commodities (industry trends, supplier landscape and emerging technologies).
- Collaborate with stakeholders on a strategic and tactical level, acting as a trusted partner to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Establish a strong presence within the categories, fostering visibility and accessibility to suppliers, industry events, and relevant market developments.
- Align way of working with Group Procurement and design clear cooperation and processes between stakeholders and Procurement, to maximize the added value of procurement.
- Take project responsibility for complete category implementation of suppliers.
- Develop robust risk management systems to ensure supplier continuity and promote healthy competition.
Wie zoeken wij
You are a procurement professional, with working experience in a multinational environment. You are able to understand the landscape, and advise the business with your insights. In this position you will have the chance to help reshape the procurement landscape within an international market-leader. With mature procurement skills, organizational sensitivity and strong stakeholder management skills you are able to realise improvements. Also you have:
- A completed bachelor’s- or master’s degree.
- Certification or active pursuit of certification in CIPS/NEVI or equivalent procurement certification.
- Proven ability to initiate, draft, validate, sign off, and execute procurement strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in building strategic partnerships with suppliers to deliver services throughout Europe.
- Experience in cross-functional teams and good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Fluent English language skills (written & spoken), any additional language is an asset.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time within Europe for business purposes.

- A competitive salary between € 85.000,- and € 104.000,- gross annually.
- Holiday allowance.
